& so I return home

& so I return home

& so I return home

To find the ceiling on the floor

& the floor next door

This lamp makes man

Feel like Michelangelo’s God

They touch

Where does summer end

& autumn start?

You are the plumb of my eye

The sink in my ear

So I’m stiff with fear

Stymied by one part cowardice

& one part the difficulty

In explaining the bull to the crow

She says “why explain?

Why not just be?”

As she comes to sit on my knee

She’s right like the night
