What is Art Shall Be Free Recordings?

Art Shall Be Free Recordings is a not for profit collaborative working to raise awareness of the work of underrepresented artists - usually for reasons that they challenge the mediums they work in. They are artists who are solely about the art and a love of humanity told through their communities. What we do is help them get their music to a wider audience. However, everything we do is based on a principle of community versus the usual thing of throwing money & power behind the project. If you are in art to make money, then ASBF is not for you. We are about establishing genuine connections between people who wish to share authentic art and sound, not shifting commodities.

From Bands to Spoken Word to Conceptual Art to to Podcasts to Journalism…

Art Shall Be Free Recordings believes in full artistic control for its artists. Despite this it asks that its artists do not seek to unduly shock or repulse unless it is handled with sensitivity. It asks that its artists ennoble humanity and give voice to those parts of it which are too often neglected. It is a not for profit organisation. All funds generated go back into the artists development & promotion and where permissible to donate to worthy organizations which work towards the recognition of Universal Human Rights.

OUR ARTISTS OWN ALL RIGHTS TO THEIR WORK AND CAN LEAVE THE AGREEMENT WITH THE COLLECTIVE WHENEVER THEY CHOOSE. THE FOCUS OF THIS COLLECTIVE TO FOSTER COMMUNITY.

So far, it's artists include:

Australian acts Mel From Melbourne, Bait, Forest Radio, Earth To Malachi, & Fijian acts The Bula Brothers & Luke Cama.

Art Shall Be Free Recordings is works in the pursuit of friendship and the development of community. In sharing audiences and personal networks our collective network grows. This network has become an ugly word. It need not be. If you wish to challenge anything the collective seeks to achieve then reach out. Blessings to you all.
